Exploring Bali: Top Tips for an Unforgettable Experience"

1.     Canggu

Don’t spent a lot of time in Canggu! It is not beautiful at all but it is good if you looking to go out, try out fancy restaurants (which are not that cheap) and buy some souvenirs.

I also wouldn't recommend going surfing there since I heard from a few people that the water is quite dirty there and you can get way better waves in Uluwatu or Lombok!

  • 2 or 3 days are enough believe me!

  • Most famous beach club to go to is Finns

2.     Komodo Island

Do the Komodo boat tour! If you book over Wanua Adventure or a similar operator it will only cost you around 180,00€ for a 4 day/3 nights boat trip around the islands.

This includes food, accommodation on the boat (really basic!!) and activities like swimming with whale sharks, visiting the pink beach and hiking trips on different islands

3.     Nusa Penida

Go to Nusa Penida for the famous beach (Kelingking) and swim with the manta rays

4.     Lombok

If you want to see rice terraces consider doing this in Lombok as well/instead of Ubud. Tetebatu is like Lombok years ago.

You can book this through a tour guide called Edi (LINK).

He will take you around the village and will show you what spices are growing there as well as to the rice fields and a monkey forests (where the monkeys aren’t as aggressive as in Ubud). We also had lunch in the jungle part.

Just be aware that currently (April 2024) the app Grab is not available on Lombok or Nusa Penida so it is a bit harder to travel around but you can still hire motorbikes or private drivers.

I used a local driver who was way cheaper than the ones the Hostel offered. He can pick you up per pike or car just write him over this number:

Java: +62 878 1708 8231

5.     Lovina

Swim with dolphins

6.     The Gili Islands

Are good to swim with turtles.

Gili Trawangan is a party island. This is only the right spot for you if you want to go out and party!
